The JHWalter Energy & Planning Team submitted an application to Rushcliffe Borough Council for a single 500kW wind turbine on Land off Melton Road near to Upper Broughton for the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, in March 2014.
The Diocese first considered the opportunities of renewable energy across their landholding in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire in 2012, in the hope of providing some control over energy supply security and significantly offsetting their energy costs. After detailed feasibility work, a decision was made that a wind turbine would be the most appropriate way to achieve this goal.
JHWalter submitted the application for the 67metre tip wind turbine in March 2014. The application is currently being considered by Rushcliffe Borough Council and a decision will be made shortly.
