The Big Migration
A third of UK households are predicted to move home as the pandemic is set to change where we live.
Rising demand from lockdowns, stamp duty incentives and hybrid working is encouraging homeowners to reconsider their lifestyles, with almost a third of UK households making plans to change their living arrangements. They cite remote working as the facilitator and quality of life as the ambition.
According to a new national survey of around 2000 households by property developer Romal Capital, 31% are planning to move house and, with only 5% of households typically moving house in any given year, the increase is staggering. The following were the top three reasons people felt as important to them when relocating home:
- 29% good standard of living
- 25% hybrid working environment
- 23% road networks and connectivity
