European Stone Festival 2013 At Lincoln Cathedral

We were pleased to donate our services to Lincoln Cathedral during the 2013 European Stone Festival, which was a magnificent event.

The University of Lincoln has just released a short documentary film of the event.

The historic setting of the East Green of the Cathedral welcomed around 140 stonemasons and stone carvers from around the world.  The public were given the rare opportunity to watch some of the best European crafts men and women demonstrate their creativity and skills in friendly competition.  Prizes were awarded for the best carvings in various categories, which were then auctioned by Ian Walter of JHWalter. The auction of the stone carvings raised an outstanding £50,000 for Lincoln Cathedral Fabric Fund.

£3 million is needed each year to maintain and run the Cathedral, one third comes from the giving of former generations. This leaves a gap of £2 million every year to fill.
