Changes to Permitted Development Rights on Rear Extensions
Current permitted development rights for larger single storey rear extensions to dwellings will be made permanent.
On 30th May 2019 the temporary permitted development rights for householders allowing larger rear extension to their properties was due to expire. However, the government has announced that the legislation, which allows rear single storey extensions between 3m to 6m for an attached dwelling and 4m to 8m for detached dwellings using the Neighbour Consultation Scheme, will become permanent.
